900 miles / 1440 kms in 6 Days
Leaving Victoria at 9:30 a.m., we begin by cruising through the Gulf Islands, heading to our first stop at Lund for lunch. Next, we head to the famous Desolation Sound, a boater's paradise, play in Aaron Rapids and explore Bute Inlet (the largest fjord). We will arrive for our first night at a remote island and stay at the exclusive Dent Island Resort.
As we journey north through the inside passage of Johnstone Strait, we will travel up Knight Inlet and watch Grizzly Bears in the estuary from the comfort of our boat. Then we head to the heritage fishing village of Telegraph Cove for our second night.
First, we will begin navigating across the Queen Charlotte Straits to the famous Nakwakto Rapids, the location of the fastest tidal currents in the world. We will then travel around Cape Scott, located on the northern tip of Vancouver Island. Now travelling down the west coast, we will pass the beautiful Hansen Lagoon, where the Danish settled in 1897, on to Quatsino Sound, where we will stay at the wilderness resort of Eagle Manor Lodge.
Enjoying the mountainous beauty of the west coast, we pass the untouched coastline of Brooks Peninsula, explore various inlets, and see Nootka Island; the island where Captain Cook landed in 1776. We will finish the day in the old logging camp of Tahsis. We will be staying in the truely “west coast” designed Tahsis Lodge.
Voyaging down to Hot Spring Cove, we walk through pristine forests to take a dip in the natural hot springs. As we pass by Long Beach, we will travel through the Broken Island Group and will stay at the exclusive and luxurious Eagle Nook Resort and Spa.
We will motor by the famous West Coast Lifesaving Trail, where shipwrecked sailors were rescued from the “Graveyard of the Pacific”, enjoying the last day of our scenic trip.
